Joint Petition for Divorce

(with children)

Both spouses agree to the divorce and the terms. Both are willing to sign.

Divorce is one of the most common and difficult encounters a person has with the legal system. In a contested divorce, a person can pay in excess of $15,000 or more for an attorney. However, it is possible to file a divorce without a lawyer. For a Nevada divorce, one spouse must be a Nevada resident for at least 6 weeks prior to the filing and intend on remaining in the state indefinitely. A friend, relative, or co-worker will have to sign an affidavit affirming that the spouse is indeed a resident. If you and your spouse agree on the terms of the divorce, you may file a Joint Petition. This can be filed whether you have children or not, as long as you both agree.  These are typically approved very quickly and an in-person appearance with a judge is often unnecessary. If you do not agree together on the terms of the divorce and still wish to file, contact us here

Both parties are willing to sign.

There are no children.

Both spouses have agreed upon the division of debts and assets prior to the filing.
